Installation of Ford Fusion Rear Deck emblem!

The Fusion rear deck emblem is a new emblem type. It is unique and used only on the Fusion.  Its a simple painted chrome cover that sits on a plastic dome.  Other emblems on other Models are whole emblems.

As you can see the dome shape is extremely pronouced.  The replacement emblem is a 5.75", slighlty wider that the one it replaces and is the traditional type emblem "whole emblem" like on all other models of Ford vehicles which do not use the high rise dome covers.

Below are a few steps to help you with your installation. 

1.  Photo of rear deck with original emblem intact.

2. Take a flat screwdriver and left the cover off the emblem.  Place the screwdriver under the edge of tbe chrome cover on the right or left side.  Lift straight up.  It generally comes off with very little effort.

3.  A view of the domed plastic area under the chrome original emblem.  This is the modification part, it needs to be removed for the new one to fit.  Take a small cutting tool  to remove the plastic domed area which is covered with the stick tape.  A Dremel tool with a cutting wheel works great. 

4.  This is what the piece you remove should look like when Its cut out.  Its just about the size of the orignal emblem cover you removed. 

Wipe down the area and stick the new emblem in its place.  You will be proud of the new look of your Fusion.  CONGRATULATIONS!
