Removing original emblems:

A.  For MOUNTING TAPE type.  These emblems are generally easy to remove but depending on how log they've been on the vehicle can make them more stubborn.
B.  For PLASTIC POST type mounted emblems.  These require a steady pulling force.  It's usually easiest to get under the edge with a flat tool and pull straight out from one side then the other, alternating while the metal clips on the back of the posts slide off.  Quite a bit of force is usually necessary to remove these so be careful not to bend a body panel if the emblem is extremely stubborn.  If it seems the emblems wont come off without excessive force, then it make be necessary to access the back of the emblem to twist off the reatainer nuts.
Mounting replacement emblems:
B.  For original post type, simply reatach with the retainer nuts saved from the removal of the original emblems.  If the new emblems posts dont line up with the original holes, one of two methods can be used:
A.  For mounting tape type, using a good quality mounting tape is recommended.  3M type in at least 2mm thickness is recommended for best bonding ability.  Peel one side of the tape and stick to the back of the emblem, then a razor blade or exacto knife works great to trim the tape around the emblem.  Finally place in original position or where desired.

1.  First try to use a small flat screwdriver to get under the edge and just pull straight up from the mounting surface to break the seal.
2.  If the emblem has been mounted for a while it may be necessary to use a hair dryer or pour hot water over the entire emblem and surface to assist in weakening the bond.
Ocassionally plastic studs or pins are used along with mounting tape applications.  In the event, they are for alignment purposes only!
3.  Another method is to use monofiliment fishing line and get it under one edge, then use it to saw back and forth across the underside of the emblem
1.  Use pliers to twist off the plastic posts and smooth the base out evenly with the surface of the emblem backing.  Then Mounting tape can be used to stick them on (see above).
2.  You can also use a drill to place new holes where the plasic posts can be position through and then the retainer nuts can be used again.
In some instances the platic posts on the new emblems may be in different places than the originals or longer than the originals, modifications are then necessary!
